Why choose a soap bar?

A body bar is a beautiful, sustainable option. By using a soap bar you not only care for your skin in a gentle and pure way, but you also help reduce plastic waste.

The formula is kinder to the skin, because only natural ingredients are used that cleanse the skin without drying it out. Moreover, a soap bar lasts much longer because it has a higher concentration of ingredients, so you need much less for an effective result.

Apricot Body Bar - Naked body bar

Our Apricot Body Bar is a pure, mild soap without added fragrances or colourants and completely free of allergens. This naked bar was specially developed for sensitive skin and for anyone who loves simple, pure care with a soft and calming effect.

The bar is made with 100% natural ingredients and contains no unnecessary additives, synthetic substances, parabens or SLS. Without plastic packaging and without microplastics, this body bar is not only kind to your skin, but also to the environment.

The formula is packed with nourishing ingredients such as coconut and olive oil, mango and shea butter and apricot, rich in vitamins A and C.

The apricot kernels used for our apricot kernel oil are residual streams from the production of dried fruit and jam.

Frequently asked questions about the body bars

Can I also use the body bar for my face?

We recommend our body bars for the body. For the face, it's better to use a milder facial cleanser, specially tailored to facial skin, such as our Carrot Cleanser.

What is the difference between the body bars?

All soaps are 100% natural and made in the Netherlands.

The Apricot Body Bar contains 0% fragrances and is therefore allergen-free and very suitable for sensitive skin.

The Elderberry Body Bar is cleansing and refreshing and contains a small percentage of essential oils.

The Olive Body Bar cleanses deeply and also contains a small percentage of essential oils.

Is a body bar the same as a bar of soap?

Not quite. A body bar contains more caring oils and is milder than traditional soaps.

How do I use a body bar?

Wet it, rub on the skin or in your hands, rinse off and let it dry. That way it lasts longer.

Does the Apricot Body Bar contain fragrances or allergens?

No, the apricot body bar is completely free of fragrances, colourants and allergens. A ‘naked’ soap, suitable for sensitive skin or those who prefer fragrance-free products.

Are the body bars vegan and packaged plastic-free?

Yes. All Food for Skin body bars are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and packaged in fully plastic-free cardboard packaging that can be recycled with paper.

How long does a body bar last?

On average as long as two bottles of shower gel (depending on use).

Let the bar dry well after use to enjoy it for as long as possible.

Elderberry Body Bar

The Elderberry bar is refreshing, cleansing and protects the skin. The bar cleanses gently, yet nourishes fully thanks to a rich mix of olive and coconut oil, shea and mango butter. The star of the bar is elderberry seed oil: light, but super powerful and packed with omega 3 and 6 to keep your skin supple and cared for. Frankincense and vetiver give the skin a boost and two types of clay help cleanse the pores.

The elderberry is an ode to the mother of Angela and Cathy. Our mother was far ahead of her time with organic vegetable gardening and her knowledge of herbs and vegetables. Elderberry is still a favourite of hers in homemade lemonade or as pure berry juice. The elderberry oil is extracted from residual streams of a juice factory, so partly upcycled!

Olive Body Bar

Our Olive Body Bar is a pure and caring bar of soap that deeply cleanses your skin without drying it out. With olive as its base, your skin feels clean, soft and comfortable after use, without a tight feeling.

The bar contains white clay (kaolin), which helps cleanse pores in a mild way and absorb excess sebum. At the same time, pomegranate and cranberry seed oil contribute to caring for the skin. These oils are naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which help keep the skin supple and protect it against external influences.

A subtle mix of essential oils of thyme, vetiver and camphor leaf gives the bar a herbal, earthy and fresh scent. As always, this bar is also free of unnecessary additives and developed with respect for skin and environment.

How do you use a body bar?

Using a soap bar is simple and pleasant. Wet the bar in the shower and rub it between your hands or directly over the skin to create a soft, creamy lather. Massage the lather over your body for a mild, caring cleanse. Thanks to the natural oils, your skin feels wonderfully soft and hydrated after drying off.

To keep your soap bar in good shape for as long as possible, it's important to let it dry well after each use. Store the bar in a dry, airy place, for example on a soap dish with holes or ridges, so the water can drain away. This keeps the soap firm and makes it last considerably longer.

Tips to use your Body Bar for as long as possible:

  • Don't leave the bar loose on the shower floor, this prevents the soap from becoming soft.
  • Take your bar with you when travelling in a soap dish or travel case, but always let the soap dry after use.
  • When your bar is almost finished, you can easily press small leftover pieces together or use them in a soap bag, so nothing is wasted.
