Customers sometimes ask us if natural skincare is as good as the synthetic products they currently use.

When Cathy & Angela started Food for Skin, their premise was: the products must be of the highest quality so that people keep using them. Without fans, no sustainable impact. So rest assured. Our natural skincare has been developed with great care, testing, and independent analysis. We have won multiple Dutch Beauty Awards and receive rave reviews. The quality and what it does for your skin have therefore been developed with great care!

Skincare without junk

Our natural care products contain no potentially harmful substances such as parabens, perfume, added microplastics, or SLS. In addition, our natural skincare contains no fillers such as water. It is pure facial care with the most powerful and nourishing ingredients from nature: vegetables, plants, and seeds.

Natural skincare for your skin barrier

On your skin lies a natural layer (the microbiome), where natural oils, viruses and bacteria live to ensure that your natural ecosystem functions. When you use harsh, drying ingredients, this delicate ecosystem can be disrupted or even damaged. This can lead to a disturbed, sensitive skin barrier and various skin problems. Food for Skin's natural skin products bring your skin into the right balance, strengthening your skin's own function, resulting in radiant, firm skin.

Sustainable facial care

In addition to high-quality products, we try to produce as sustainably as possible. For example, our natural skincare products are made close to home (all in the Netherlands and the Apple Peeling and Rocket Eye Cream in Italy). In addition, we use as many ingredients from residual streams as possible. Currently, 20% comes from upcycling. This gives waste value again! We also do not pack our bottles in an unnecessary extra box and they are recyclable (glass with glass and plastic with plastic).

Frequently asked questions about natural skincare

Is natural skincare as effective as synthetic?

Yes, provided the formulas are properly composed. Food for Skin's products have been developed with independent analyses and lab tests, have won multiple Dutch Beauty Awards, and consist of active ingredients without water as a filler. The difference is not in effectiveness, but in what isn't in them: perfume, parabens, SLS and added microplastics.
Where do I start with natural skincare?

With the three-step basic routine: cleanser, serum, cream. Choose the serum that suits your skin, whether calming, nourishing or strengthening, or take the skincare quiz for personalized advice. If you want to try it first, a mini-size trial set is the most accessible way to start.
What does 100% of natural origin mean at Food for Skin?

That the ingredients are of natural origin: vegetables, plants, and seeds, partly from residual flows from the food industry. Where a nature-identical preservative is needed, we honestly state that per product, including the exact naturalness percentage in the ingredient list.
Does sunscreen count as extra care?

Not really, SPF is a daily basic step. It's listed here because it falls outside of the three-step sets, but during the day, sun protection is the last step of any routine, all year round.
