How do you use a Gua Sha?
So, why would you want to use Gua Sha on your face? Well, it has some amazing benefits!
- First, it can help improve blood circulation to your face, giving you a healthy, radiant complexion.
- It can also help reduce tension in the facial muscles, improve collagen production, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It makes the skin smoother and firmer.
- And let’s talk about the “morning look,” with deeper wrinkles and sometimes a little puffiness in the face. Gua Sha can help reduce that bloated look, leaving you looking fresh and wide awake.
But how do you actually use a Gua Sha stone? It's actually quite simple.
- First of all, make sure your face is clean by cleansing with a cleanser that does not dry out the face, such as the Carrot Cleanse r .
- Apply a few drops of cleanser or serum to the face and neck to help the stone glide over the face more easily.
- Then grab your Gua Sha stone - preferably one made of obsidian , a natural volcanic glass known for its healing properties. Make sure the stone is clean before using it by washing it with mild soap and water.
Now you're ready to get started!
- Hold the stone at about a 15-degree angle to your skin and use gentle but firm pressure to scrape your face in upward motions (from bottom to top).
- Work from the center of your neck and face outward, toward the side of your ears. This is to direct the fluid toward the lymph nodes that can process the fluid (from the inside out),
- Start at your neck and work your way up to your forehead.
- Focus on areas where you feel tension or want some extra lift, such as along the jawline and around the eyes.
- Do this for 5-10 minutes daily for best results.
